Elizabeth was wonderful. Jumped right into the situation and and came up with something very original and "just right" for my space. Absolutely worth the cost, which I thought was very reasonable. She was also very positive, pleasant and fun to work with. The best!
Alice L. Seattle, WAMost helpful for me is that she found exactly the right balance between working with my stated preferences and opening my mind to shades of colors that might be even better than what I originally envisioned.
Lisa A. Bothell, WAEveryone that comes to our new home says that they love the colors. The exterior of our home has wonderful 'curb-appeal' and the colors of the interior flow perfectly from room to room. I totally credit Elizabeth Brown who said that she just helped "guide me" toward the colors I already loved. Elizabeth is truly the 'color whisperer'.
Carol C. Kent, WAAfter the final choices were made, she constructed a palette with a list of all the colors selected, ready for the painter! A very relaxing, positive experience....and a very efficient way in which to put everything together!
Sandra R. Lake Forest Park, WAElizabeth helped my wife and I decide on a totally new exterior color scheme that included everything from walls, doors, patio ceiling, paint finishes, and she left us precise instructions for exactly how the paint should be applied by whichever painting company we decide to hire. She took her time with us and we all worked together to agree on what would work best on every single corner of our home exterior.
I contacted Elizabeth earlier in the week by phone, we discussed precisely what our needs were, and she requested we send her photos of our home in advance of our Saturday morning meeting. She arrived on time, is very pleasant, came prepared with ideas that met our needs and we feel her service was invaluable in saving us time, as we aren't color professionals and painters we'd spoken with didn't do a whole lot more than hand us a brochure to choose colors on our own.
We will hire her in the future to help us with interior paint consulting as well, along with highly and very comfortably recommending her to anyone we know in need of this incredible service.

LOVED the whole experience. I contacted Elizabeth late on Friday night and she was at our house on Sunday afternoon with all of her paint samples. We tackled the whole house and she helped us select colors for every room. She listened to us and offered suggestions and her expertise! She was wonderful.

It went great. My husband wanted a "big picture" color scheme for our house which was all taupe when we moved in 2 years ago. With all the gray rainy days in Seattle, that was driving me crazy. So after long discussions, we looked on Angie's List and contacted Elizabeth...just what the doctor ordered!! She worked great with us. We tackled every room in the house and now we have a plan that looks and feels wonderful!!
I had read reviews on Angies's list, so I emailed Elizabeth telling her what I was interested in doing. My emails were answered immediately, she seemed absolutely interested in finding out what my needs were and she came across as warm and knowledgable. So, I set up an appointment. Elizabeth arrived a few minutes before our designated appointment. She brought with her a huge collection of samples of potential colors from different paint companies that ranged in price. She was very responsive to my concern about paint cost. My biggest concern was that not only did I want colores that would be good for each room,I wanted a nice flow of colors from room to room. Elizabeth was great at providing suggestions based on a solid knowledge base of color, art and light, but she was very careful to listen to my preferences. If I did not respond to a color, she offered other suggestions that she thought would work keeping my esthetic preferences in mind. She is very relaxed, enthusiastic, and fun to work with. I felt at all times that her prime goal was to be sure that I would end up feeling happy and excited about my choices. I never felt pressured. I can't say enough good things about my experience working with her. I can't wait to see how her expertise will transform our home.
Kate K. Kirkland, WAElizabeth helped me design a fantastic color palette for my entire home. I've got everything I need to significantly improve the look of my home.
What a great experience! I learned of Elizabeth through Angie's List and then checked out her website and blog. The pictures on her blog convinced me that she has a wonderful eye, so I emailed her and heard back right away. Within two days she was at my home with her swatches and paint sheets (some quite large so I could get a good idea of how the colors would look in my rooms). As the other reviews mention, she doesn't push her style onto you--it's a real partnership. We discussed my general color likes and dislikes, how I wanted to feel in the room, etc., and from then on, it was just play. She was very responsive to what I was liking and not liking as she pulled out various swatches and color combinations. Most helpful for me is that she found exactly the right balance between working with my stated preferences and opening my mind to shades of colors that might be even better than what I originally envisioned. I had mentioned early on that I don't particularly like greens, and she was good about staying away from "typical" greens. Yet as we talked through various options, she showed me a grey-green that I would have completely bypassed if I had been on my own. When I actually looked at it in the room and in combination with the rest of my palette, I love it! It's a stunner--probably the room I'm most looking forward to! Now I have a full palette of colors that flow really nicely from room to room. Elizabeth made the experience so easy and fun. I strongly recommend her.
She came with lots of color swatches. She listened to what we liked and did not like. She did not push her colors but what we wanted. In the end we had a color palette that went well together and we knew what colors we were painting all the rooms in our home.
Steve, A. Kirkland, WAAfter spending many hours at paint stores and collecting a shoebox full of color samples I decided that I could not choose the paint colors for our new home on my own. (I was on "color over-load"!) I called two of the color consultants from "Angie's List" and Elizabeth Brown called back immediately. Elizabeth Brown first met us in our old home, where she was able to see our current colors, furniture and decor. We then drove to our new home (under construction) where she helped me to choose the exterior colors. I already had some idea of the colors I wanted and Elizabeth helped me to narrow down what would work best. Having her expertise in choosing the trim, front door and siding colors was invaluable. Several months later she came back to help with the interior colors. This time Elizabeth asked that I bring my favorite throw pillows as well as any cushions and bedspreads that would be used in our new house. We spent over two hours going through each room of the house. She had poster board sized color samples which really helped me to see which color would work best. She also pointed out how the colors would change, depending on the light. Once the colors were chosen, I was given a detailed information sheet with small color samples and details with paint colors and brand. I gave these to our painter who was able to match the colors perfectly. Everyone that comes to our new home says that they love the colors. The exterior of our home has wonderful “curb-appeal” and the colors of the interior flow perfectly from room to room. I totally credit Elizabeth Brown who said that she just helped "guide me" toward the colors I already loved. Elizabeth is truly the "color whisperer"!
Carol C. Kent, WAAfter 8 years of the same colors, I needed some help in updating my thinking. I love my current colors as they are calming but I needed a new, fresh color palette to work from as I update my floors, furniture and curtains. Elizabeth got my preferences right away -- I don't like boring colors but I like a calm feel. She helped me put both of these approaches together.
Carole J. West Seattle, WAI was confused about choosing colors, so I contacted Elizabeth. She arrived the following day with a complete line of color choices, including large samples. We began with the largest spaces and came up with a great scheme! Elizabeth was very professional and easy to work with/had great ideas. After the final choices were made, she constructed a palette with a list of all the colors selected , ready for the painter! A very relaxing, positive experience....and a very efficient way in which to put everything together!
Sandra R. Lake Forest Park, WAElizabeth helped me choose paint colors for different rooms in our home. PLUS, she offered suggestions on how we might improve our living areas with lighting, etc. That was a bonus.
Everything went fine. We made the appointment on the first phone call and Elizabeth was very prompt for our meeting. She asked a lot of questions to get a feel for my personal style and made recommendations based on my answers.
We were having problems agreeing on colors for a remodled area. We tried several ourself but weren't happy with them. She found out which colors we like and then helped us agree on colors.

Elizabeth arrived here on time and was very pleasant to work with. I emailed some pictures of the area we were picking colors for. She arrived with sample colors from several different paint suppliers so there was alot of variety. We were able to find colors that worked well and then we moved on to other rooms thatI hoped we would have time for. We were able to accomplish more that I expected and we were very pleased with her.
My fiance and I just bought a new house, but didn't like the interior colors. We were committed to having the whole house repainted, but couldn't agree at all on which colors to go with and felt overwhelmed by all the choices and didn't know what best matched the fir trim in our new house. We found Elizabeth on Angie's List and decided to give her a try, since the investment seemed small compared to the overall cost of painting. Elizabeth came to our house and spent 2.5 hours working with us on choosing colors for all of the rooms in the house. She left us with paint swatches and a detailed list of the colors we chose.

Everything went extremely well, and we are very happy with the colors that Elizabeth picked out. My fiance was skeptical with the choices at first, but after the painting was done, it looked great and went very well with our wood trim. Even he is very pleased with the color choices! I initially called Elizabeth on a Saturday, and she was very flexible about when she could meet. Since we hadn't yet moved in yet, we had to work with the previous owners for a time we could all meet. Elizabeth was able to come by at the time we specified on a very short notice. Not only that, but she was willing to meet even earlier than we had originally planned and committed to taking an earlier ferry just to get here during our set time window. She was also extremely punctual and arrived at the house even before we did. Elizabeth arrived with tons of paint samples, swatches, and larger poster-sized paint chips. During the color selection process, Elizabeth was so friendly and easy to work with. She wasn't pushy at all and had a really good color sense and has done this enough in the past to know what colors work and which typically don't. She steered us away from potentially bad choices and helped us select some great colors. We had originally scheduled a 1.5 hour meeting, but it took a bit longer to choose all of the colors, and she ended up staying an extra hour. We tried to pay her the full amount, but she only asked for $150, which is less than she had originally quoted. A few days later, we also received a thank you card in the mail from her. A very nice touch! Overall, the experience was great and I would highly recommend hiring Elizabeth if you're going to make the investment in painting. She was so easy to work with, does high quality work, was incredibly flexible, and charged us less than we expected. How could it be better?
She gave me a consultation for ideas on what paint colors to use for different rooms, as well as, integrating existing colors that were currently in place. Also ideas for arranging pictures on the walls to accent them better.

She was very friendly and personable. I was very impressed with ideas, professional and graciousness. She wrote a follow note and phone call to check to see how things have gone. She left color splashes of the paint she suggested. I would highly recommend her.
We hired EB (Elizabeth Brown) Color Consultant to help us select a color scheme for our house exterior. We'd made color selection errors in the past and did not want to repeat our mistakes.

Elizabeth showed up right on time, with a satchel full of Kelly-Moore and Benjamin Moore paint cards. We'd specified KM and BM paints for their quality ratings and our previous experience with them. Elizabeth spent about an hour with my wife and I, comparing different colors. She came up with a nice combination that compliments the landscaping and the surrounding houses.
Elizabeth is an artist and knows Color Theory inside and out.
Not wanting to make a mistake picking out exterior house colors, I looked for a professional color consultant. I found Elizabeth Brown from her ad in a local paper. She offers a fabulous service and it was money well-spent. She is a member of a professional association for color consultants, and she is also an artist. She brought to my home many satchels of colors. She spent almost an hour and a half helping me put together a palette of colors and giving me advice and which colors should go where on my house. She left me with an instruction sheet for my painting contractor to follow. Elizabeth loves Benjamin Moore paint, and that is the paint we are going to use. I told her I was an Angie's List member and would report on her service. Modestly, she suggested I wait until the colors go on my house to see if I really like them; but, I know I will love them.

Over the phone I told Elizabeth some colors I was considering. She had obviously spent time ahead of our appointment studying my colors and putting together some alternative suggestions. I am pleased that she rescued me from my original color choices. She led me to choices that would coordinate with my landscape, blending with the nature elements. She sorted out the complexities of trim pieces on my house and how to paint them. She listened to what I wanted and made sure what I ultimately chose was what I really wanted. I would definitely hire her again to help me with color selections, inside or out.
